About Me

My photo
I love taking pictures! As I take them, it seems that somewhere in the back of my mind a story is being written. The resulting "photo stories" simply reflect my love of nature. I'll share some with you now that I am venturing into the world of blogging. Enjoy!

Tip Top Vacation

If you have a 14 year old grandson like mine and decide to go on vacation together, go for it! He was the best....personality, companion, helper, friend, fun....oh I could go on and on!  From day one absolutely the best!

Absolutely the best packer ever!

We filled our time with travel to Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan and reversed it in order to meet his cousins on my side of the family for the first time.  Most of all it was a time for play.

Miniature golf showed that although my grandson had the form, Nana Chuck had the luck -- four holes-in-one!
Had not played the game in over 10 years, tool (Brag...brag!)
Kentucky was visiting with cousins with my grandson showing off his diving prowess.

Experiencing the fun of tubing......
The exhilaration of surfboarding.....
And...of course.... the inevitable consequences....

Next was my favorite  state....Michigan...and being with friends and, again, heading for the beach...

So much to enjoy with beautiful Lake Michigan!  Walks  along the pier and the beach to watch beautiful sunsets....
Trying to capture some of the magic by camera.

Tasting "yesteryear" on a carousel and admiring ourselves in the mirror.

Satisfying (and overloading) tummies with luscious food including Yum Yum Frozen Yogurt....

And an exquisite dinner at Tabor Hill Winery....

Then bidding a fond farewell to Lake Michigan .....

We headed to Indiana and a delightful reunion with more cousins in their cottage by a countryside lake for some fishing...
Meandered around the lake on a pontoon boat ......

And harassed a blue heron to get him to pose for our camera.
Too soon it was time to head home with a stop off for the night at a Victorian Bed and Breakfast to enjoy the comforts of that era, but most of all the enormous claw footed bathtub and the absolutely scrumptilicious stuffed French toast for breakfast!

Vacation over...now my grandson has begun high school and seems to be so quickly growing up.  But, my wonderful grandson, on your way you gave your very thankful Nana a Tip-Top Vacation to remember!
